1. Introduction

1.1. This Privacy Policy describes how Reshanti Limited (“Reshanti”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, processes, stores, and protects personal data obtained from individuals who use our online platform (“Platform”), including yoga teachers (“Teachers”) and yoga students (“Students”).

1.2. Reshanti is firmly committed to safeguarding the privacy and security of all personal data entrusted to us. We process personal data strictly in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) (“GDPR”) and applicable Irish data protection legislation.

1.3. By accessing or using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and consent to the practices described herein, unless a different lawful basis applies.

2. Data Controller

2.1. For the purposes of GDPR, Reshanti Limited acts as the Data Controller in respect of all personal data collected through the Platform. As Data Controller, we determine the purposes and means by which personal data is processed.

2.2. Any queries regarding this Policy or our processing of personal data may be directed to the contact details provided at the end of this document.

3. Categories of Personal Data Collected

3.1. In the course of operating the Platform, Reshanti may collect and process the following categories of personal data:

3.1.1 Identification Data

This includes a user’s full legal name, email address, date of birth (if required), and any information required for account creation and maintenance.

3.1.2 Identity Verification Data

Teachers are required to undergo an identity verification process carried out through Stripe Identity, which necessitates the submission of images of an identification document (front and back) and a selfie. These materials are transmitted directly to Stripe and are not stored or accessed by Reshanti. Reshanti receives only the outcome of the verification procedure.

3.1.3 Payment and Payout Data

For Students, limited payment-related information such as billing details and transaction identifiers may be processed by third-party payment providers. For Teachers, bank account details may be collected to facilitate payouts. Reshanti does not store full credit card numbers or sensitive payment card information at any time.

3.1.4 Media Content

Teachers and Students may upload profile photographs, introductory videos, or other media necessary for participation in the Platform. These materials may also constitute personal data.

3.1.5 Technical and Usage Data

Such data includes IP addresses, browser type, device information, operating system, access times, Platform navigation data, session history, and user preferences.

3.1.6 Location Data

Approximate geolocation may be inferred based on IP address or other technical data. Users may also voluntarily provide more specific location details.

4. Legal Basis for Processing Personal Data

4.1. Reshanti processes personal data strictly in accordance with the lawful bases set out in Article 6 of the GDPR. These bases include:

(a) Contractual Necessity, where processing is required to provide the services requested by the user, manage bookings, administer accounts, facilitate payments, and operate the Platform’s core functionality.

(b) Consent, which applies where users affirmatively agree to the use of their personal data for specific purposes, including but not limited to the use of Teachers’ profile photos or videos in marketing materials and the receipt of optional marketing communications. Consent may be withdrawn at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

(c) Legitimate Interests, where Reshanti’s interests in ensuring the security, functionality, improvement, and fraud prevention of the Platform outweigh any potential impact on users’ privacy rights, provided such interests are pursued in a proportionate manner.

(d) Legal Obligations, including obligations related to tax law, accounting, regulatory compliance, fraud prevention, or responding to lawful requests from public authorities.

5. Purposes for Which Personal Data Is Processed

5.1. Reshanti processes personal data for the following purposes:

(a) to create, maintain, and administer user accounts;

(f) to improve and personalise user experience, optimise Platform performance, and analyse service usage patterns;
(g) to display Teacher media on the Platform and, where explicit consent has been provided, to use such media for marketing or promotional purposes;
(h) to ensure compliance with applicable laws, respond to legal obligations, and prevent or detect fraudulent or unlawful activity.

5.2. Withdrawal of consent for marketing or media usage does not affect any processing that occurred prior to the withdrawal, nor does it affect the legality of previously distributed promotional materials.

6. Data Sharing and Third-Party Disclosures

6.1. Reshanti shall not sell or rent personal data under any circumstances.

6.2. Personal data may be shared with the following categories of recipients, where necessary:

(d) Public authorities, where disclosure is required by law or in response to lawful requests;
(e) Third parties to whom the user has explicitly consented to disclose data.

6.3. These third parties act either as independent data controllers or as data processors on behalf of Reshanti, depending on the nature of the services provided.

7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

7.1. The Platform makes use of cookies, analytics technologies, and similar tools to enhance functionality, improve performance, and analyse user behaviour.

7.2. Users are informed of cookie usage through the Platform’s cookie banner, where they may manage their preferences. Non-essential cookies shall not be activated without the user’s consent.

8. Data Retention

8.1. Personal data associated with a user account shall be retained for thirty (30) days following deletion of the account, after which the data shall be permanently deleted or anonymised unless retention is required by law.

8.2. Financial and transactional data, including records relevant to accounting and tax compliance, shall be retained for up to six (6) years in accordance with Irish tax law.

8.3. Stripe Identity retention periods are determined by Stripe, and Reshanti does not control or store identity documentation.

9. International Data Transfers

9.1. Some third-party service providers engaged by Reshanti may process personal data outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”).

9.2. Where such transfers occur, Reshanti ensures that appropriate safeguards are in place, including European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), adequacy decisions, or other legally recognised mechanisms.

10. Data Security

10.1. Reshanti employs appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect personal data against accidental loss, unauthorised access, misuse, disclosure, or destruction.

10.2. While we take reasonable steps to ensure the security of the Platform, no online system can guarantee absolute protection. Users acknowledge and accept that data transmission over the internet carries inherent risks.

11. User Rights Under GDPR

11.1. Users have the following rights in relation to their personal data, subject to the limitations set out in the GDPR:

(a) the right to request access to their personal data;

(d) the right to restrict processing;
(e) the right to data portability;
(f) the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests;
(g) the right to withdraw consent where consent is the lawful basis for processing;
(h) the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

11.2. Users seeking to exercise their rights may contact Reshanti at the email address listed in Section 14. Proof of identity may be required to ensure that data is not disclosed to unauthorised individuals.

12. Marketing Communications

13.1. The Platform is intended exclusively for individuals aged eighteen (18) years or older. Reshanti does not knowingly collect or process personal data relating to minors.

13.2. If we become aware that personal data of a minor has been collected in error, such data will be deleted without undue delay.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

14.1. Reshanti may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any material changes will be communicated to users through email or a prominent notice displayed on the Platform.

14.2. Continued use of the Platform following such changes shall constitute acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
